It’s 3 a.m. do you know where your brain is?

I never used to be a night owl, but I sure am one now. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing, but it can have some repercussions. Since I retired from the job I worked at for many years with early starting hours, I set hours for my shop better suited to my current lifestyle. It’s good to finally be the boss. Miss those paychecks though!

Before I leave the shop, I box stuff to take home to work on in the evening. Mostly, that would be new supplies needing price tags, paperwork entries in the computer or some beading project I am working on.

After dinner, my dear hubby Al and I head to the family room. With my handy lap table I sit in my comfy chair and work, while Al does his own thing, but at least we are together. (God love him, he puts up with a lot with me)! When he departs for bed, the quiet begins.

While most of North America is sleeping, giving their brains a good rest, mine is working overtime. Not that I can actually do much since most of my stuff is at the shop, but I am busy thinking, perusing magazines, surfing the net or sketching a design idea and planning what I’ll be doing the following day. I enjoy the quiet hours immensely. The noise of the day wears on me and I really need that decompression time.  When I look at the clock and see how late it is, I tell myself “just a little longer” and then off to bed. Usually bedtime is 2 or 3 a.m. depending how caught up I am in whatever I am doing.

So here I sit, it’s almost 3 a.m. thinking away but winding down. I wasn’t sure after my first post of what to follow with but this is what came up. Like I mentioned in the first post, I’m not sure where I’m going with this yet or how often I will post but I'm liking it so far. Hope you do too!

Nighty-night! (yawn)

A New Adventure

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks and that may very well be true. But I'm game to give it a go. This is my first attempt with blogging and since I'm not the most computer savvy person there may be some glitches here and there until I get the hang of it.

For those of you who know me, you know I am passionate for lots of things, handmade things specifically. I create jewelry, scrapbook, cook, garden and have an affinity for chickens and goats. Over the years I have dabbled with a great many things. A product of the '60's, my inner hippie has never left me. Living off the land was actually harder in many ways than I would have imagined but I loved it immensely and still long for it. Though somewhat of a "jack of all trades" I profess to be a master of none. I would like to share some of what I have experienced over the years and what is going on now in my life with you and hope it will bring you some enjoyment.

Currently, I have a tiny studio in Griffith, IN where I teach various jewelry making and creative arts techniques. My life to say the least is busy. The mind is always going, but the body can't always keep up these days.

I invite you to journey with me in this new adventure. Who knows where it may lead!
